Cats Whiskers (Orthosiphon aristatus), also known as Java tea, is a branched herbaceous plant that belongs to the family Labiatae or lamiaceae. Also referred to as java tea, cat’s whiskers are found in several places all throughout Southeast Asia, and even a few places in tropical Australia. Add 1-2 teaspoons of Java tea leaves per cup of water and steep it for 3-5 minutes. To enhance the flavor, you can add honey, lemon or ginger to the tea. It is best to drink Java tea without milk or sugar as it may overpower the natural flavor of the tea.
