1980’s Unknown Factory Tuocha 220g Sheng (Raw)

Thia pu erh tuocha weighs about 210-220 grams from loss over the years. While the factory is long unknown the tuocha’s have a rich forest taste that lasts many infusions. The paper was added sometime later as these we stored in Hong Kong for many years. Taste history.

1980’s Longzhu Pu-erh Sheng (Raw) Zuncha Brick 220g

This brick has been in HK storage and is from factory unknown. This brick is steeped in mystery as it has been visited by the silk tea worms somewhere in its history which gives it the name Longzhu (worm casting) brick. This visitation causes an extreme aging and enhancement of flavor with ginseng and herbal notes. Rich taste. This brick is from tea past that will never come again. These bricks are aged and tasty. There is no paper wrappings, as they were produced without them. They did come in bamboo wrappers which have been removed and the bricks are individual. A whole jian contained 128 pieces. The old worm castings may throw some new drinkers off, but to a seasoned Pu-erh drinker the silk is a sign of age and good taste. Those tea worms are very picky, only munching on old tea and leaving their trail of coveted Longzhu castings. These castings separated sell for over $10,000 us per pound. So for a fraction of the cost you can drink some of this special old tea that is ginseng flavor and Chinese herbal taste. By the way the worms are gone, they only live a short time, eat some tea and then fly away as a butterfly. Weight varies from 200-240g due to aged weight loss.

This great raw (sheng) Red Ribbon Tuocha was produced in Guang Dong Factory. This is a “Red Ribbon” winner with over 20 years of Guang Dong Tuocha Red Ribbon is one of the nicest tuo’s from this period.

1990’s Guang Dong Red Ribbon Sheng Tuocha – 230g

This great raw (sheng) Red Ribbon Tuocha was produced in Guang Dong Factory. It has been Hong Kong stored and has a really smooth taste that is full of character. This is a “Red Ribbon” winner with over 20 years of Guang Dong Tuocha Red Ribbon is one of the nicest tuo’s from this period. The taste is so smooth for a raw tea of this age. The weight is about 230 g due to loss over time, and the tuo breaks apart without too much effort. The leaf grade is whole and has the wild taste that lasts for many brews. This tuo is worth having and you will reach for it often. Great aftertaste too. Chen Da Ching Zhang Xiang.

1980’s Fenghuang Phoenix Raw Tuocha 100g

This 100 gram beauty (now about 95g) has a leaf that has a nice dark color. The leaves also are quite dark when steeped, also showing the age. Nice smooth taste. Fenghuang Double Phoenix Factory.

1997 Fenghuang Phoenix Shu/Cooked Tuocha 100g

This Double Phoenix Dali Nanjian Factory is well know and is what they call half cooked. The leaves are controlled during the drying process to bring out rich flavors as the tuocha ages. This one is special and memorable. This tea has a great feel on the throat and has aged well in dry Hong Kong storage. This a result of the half cooked leaves. Dali Nanjian tea factory. Clean taste.
