Type: Yellow Tea Packaging: Bag Net weight: 250g/bag Origin: Anhui, China Description: Huo Shan HuangYa is a kind of high grade yellow tea from Huo Shan county, Anhui province. This tea is made by tender slim buds and processed by traditional stir-fire procedure. That is why it gets the name yellow buds. The best grades are from Jin Ji mountain, Jin Shan Tou, Jin Zhu Ping and Wu Mi Jian villages which are around 800 metres above sea level. Huo Shan HuangYa was created in Tang dynasty (618-907 A.D) and Mr. Lu Yu , the Sage of Tea described this special yellow tea in the famouse ancient tea book Cha Jing (the Tea Classic). The processing mathod of this tea was lost in 1940s and was reproduced in 1972 by three old tea masters. To keep it fresh, the leaves are picked in the moring in spring and processed by 5 complicated procedures. All the work has to be finished by the evening of the same day. Another famouse yellow tea Jun Shan Yin Zhen is wrapped in paper to make it yellow while Meng Ding HuangYa is spreaded out on an iron plate and pan-fired into yellow color. Huo Shan HuangYa is slightly processed in yellow tea category and it resembles green in both quality and taste. This tea has a shape like the tongue of bird and there is a lot of hair on the surface of the leaves. The color is yellow and green and clear. When brewed, you will find a chestnut flavour with a sweet and thick taste. Yellow Tea, a variety little known outside of China, is in fact all but unknown in the long tea history of China. In this exquisite tea category, are some of the most famous tribute teas since the early Tang Dynasty (618-907AD). As the name suggests, yellow tea is yellow in color-both the leaves and the infusion; this color is acquired by adding an extra step, called “Sealed Yellowing”, to the process otherwise fairly similar to the making of Green tea. The length of the yellowing process can vary from thirty minutes in some teas to six days in others, creating a Yellow tea that may be hardly distinguishable from Green tea to one that is distinctively golden. The yellowing process brings about some complex and subtle changes that mellow out the grassy, bitter edge of the Green tea and enhance its aromatics.

Anhui Tai Ping Hou Kui * Monkey King High Moutain Taiping Houkui Green Tea

Type: Green Tea Grade: AAA+ Vintage: This Year Harvest Season, Tai Ping Monkey King is firstly created in Anhui’s Hou keng, while it is named after its main producing area–Tai Ping county, which known as Huang shan district in Huang shan City at present. The name ‘Hou Kui Tea’ is a combination of both its maker and producing area. The word ‘Hou’ refers to Hou Keng Village where the highest grade of this tea is made and the word ‘Kui’ refers to a tea-grower Wang Kui-cheng who made this tea by improving the processing of a local green tea ‘Jian Cha’ around 1900. Tai Ping monkey king become world-famous since it won gold medal in the 1915’s Panama Pacific Exposition. The appearance of Tai Ping Monkey king is flat and straight. The bud is enfolded by two leaves which in green bloomed color. The greenish leaf vein, with hidden red color, is so called “red string” by farmers. When infused, the tea leaf unfurl like colorful floating flowers. The fresh and mellow taste comes with high pure aroma which known as “monkey rhyme”. Tai Ping Monkey King is known as the best of Anhui province’s green teas. Tai Ping Monkey King is grown in ideal conditions on the northern slopes of the Huang Shan Mountains range, surrounded by lakes. It smells like orchid, natural and refreshing. It’s clean and elegant flavor sets it apart from the regular, or even top quality, green teas. It has it’s unmistaken-able style. How to Tai Ping Hou Kui Tea: 1. Recommended glass cup to view tea buds displaying in the cup. 2. Take about 5g tea to be brewed with boiled water (75-85℃); 3. Drink after 3 minutes; 4. The second is about 3-4 minutes. 5. It can be brewed by several times. 6. Water temperature cannot exceed 85℃, otherwise, tea water may turn to yellow. Storage: Protect against the tide, peculiar smell, keeps in low temperature and refrigerates it.
