OPA - Orange Pekoe A, is the Ceylon black tea grade that has the boldest, large size leaves in appearance. Made of long bold and slightly twisted tea leaves. Once brewed, these teas have a rich aromatic forest-like scent and the lighter liquor generally has a light golden reddish colour and a delicate lighter taste. It's famous for its citrusy flavour and together with a crisp aroma makes Ceylon tea truly unique . This tea takes slightly longer time to brew compared to other teas, but has unique taste compared to other smaller grades. Black Ceylon teas are more complicated than any others. This is because they use the stems and the leaves of the tea plant. Black Ceylon tea is made with aged stems and fermented leaves. As a result, black Ceylon tea has the lowest antioxidant content.
