It’s chocolatey and minty but with no one flavor dominating over another. It’s balanced, rich, cozy, and naturally a little sweet. I can’t believe how good it is. I dropped by the Teavana store in Pacific Place and had a lot of fun buying some tea for home, a perfect tea maker, and I left with a White Chocolate Peppermint Latte. You can use the Teavana White Chocolate Peppermint tea as a base for a latte. The Teavana store manager at the Pacific Place location is a former Starbucks store manager whom I’ve known for years. So it was like a bit of a reunion! She mentioned to me that every year Teavana sells out of the White Chocolate Peppermint tea. This year’s tea has been reformulated so that there are no artificial flavors in it! The perfect tea maker is super easy to use. You don’t need a special filter or infusion device. You dump the tea and the water together in the perfect tea maker and after 5 minutes, place atop a cup and the water (now tea) is automatically released into the cup. If you fill the perfect tea maker about to the top of the cup in the Teavana logo, you’ll have about 8 ounces. (Take note of your tea’s brewing instructions. The White Chocolate Peppermint can be brewed for 5 minutes but many teas have a shorter brewing time.) I just don’t know what to say other than you’ve got to try this tea. Iced tea is one of my very favorite drinks to serve in the warmer months. It’s really easy to make, a thirst quencher, and you can make large batches at a time, which is great for a crowd! A few years ago, I was turned on to Teavana tea. I don’t usually like fruit flavored teas, (I’m more of a classic tea kinda gal, myself) but, for some reason, Teavana hooked me with a sample of their Blueberry Kona Pop iced tea, a combination of their Blueberry Bliss Rooibos and their Pineapple Kona Pop tea flavors. It was DELISH! I bought the mixed tea and their special German rock sugar on the spot. And today, I’m sharing how to make your very own batch with this Blueberry Kona Pop iced tea recipe! Not only is the tea delicious, but it’s so pretty! I especially love all of the big pieces of dried fruit! But let’s get to the good stuff…how to brew your own batch! Here’s what you’ll need: 8 cups of boiling waterPaper Tea Filter Bags4 Tbsp. German rock sugar4 Tbsp. Pineapple Kona Pop Herbal Tea4 Tbsp. Blueberry Bliss Rooibos TeaFresh pineapple and/or blueberry for garnish First, add the rock sugar to your pitcher. (That’s some pretty sugar, if you ask me!) Use a small amount of boiling water to dissolve the sugar. Add 4 tbsp. of each flavor of the loose leaf tea to your filter bags. (I needed to use two to fit them both). You can also have Teavana pre-mix your tea for you at the store when you purchase your tea! Add your boiling water to your pitcher. Add your tea bags, allowing the tops of the bags to rest around the top of your pitcher (you don’t want the bags fully submerged, since they are not fully closed!) Steep for 10 minutes. Remove tea bags and allow tea to cool for a bit before serving. You can chill it in the fridge for about 20 minutes to speed up the process. Pour your tea into ice-filled glasses and garnish with fresh pineapples and blueberries. Blueberries are one of the best fruits out there! Sweet and tart and bite size they are perfect for munching all year long. So of course when put in a tea they are going to make a great cup! Plus is smells like blueberry pancakes or waffles, yummo! Teavana describes this tea as: The distinctive tart flavor of blueberries married to the fresh citrus taste of green Rooibos make this tea pure joy in a cup. It’s also delicious mixed with other Rooibos or White Teas for a blended treat! Ingredients: Green Rooibos, blueberries, grapes, rosehips, hibiscus, red beet root and black currants. I tried this tea as is the first time, and it is a bit tart for me, very good but still on the tart side. I did mix it with a sweeter rooibos the next time but I felt like I was not getting enough of the blueberry taste. So my next trip to teavana store includes getting some of their German Rock Cane Sugar (These pure, unprocessed sugar crystals are the best way to help enhance the natural sweetness of your tea without changing the flavor. Just add them to the tea leaves as your tea steeps for the best flavor) to try and sweeten the blend. And guess what? It was amazing, it was blueberry and delicious and no longer too tart for me. I am so happy I can enjoy this amazing blend now!
