Bulgaria is the most prolific producer of rose oil from the different cultivars of Rosa × damascena. Most historians assume that the cultivation of the “Kazanlak rose”, as Rosa damascena is denominated in that region. It is reported that roses have been cultivated in the area since Roman times. Rose Infused Oil:Place the dried rose petals 1/2 to 1/3 into a jar. Fill up with sunflower, alomond, apricot kernel or jojoba oil. Cover the jar of oil and let it sit for 3-4 weeks. Rose and Clay Face MaskMix 2 teaspoons white clay with 1 teaspoon dried roses, ground or powdered. Add enough water to form a paste. Spread over the face, avoiding the eyes. Leave on for 15 minutes before removing with warm water and a wash cloth.
