Organic Sowmee white tea loose leaf tea Wellness tea 1 LB

Gerry 12.00 ORGANIC SOWMEE a.k.a. Shou Mei (China White Tea) Country of Origin: China Region: Fujian Province Shipping Fuzhou Grade: Sowmee Grade #1 Altitude: 2000 – 4000 ft above sea level Manufacture Type: White Tea – naturally withered Cup Characteristics: Delicious toasty character with body reminiscent of Oolongs. Infusion: Tending golden notes Ingredients: Luxury white tea. 100% Organic certified by BCS, Germany. Information: White tea is very different from other types of tea such as green or black tea. White tea leaves are plucked from a special varietal tea bush called Narcissus or chaicha bushes. Secondly the leaves are not steamed or pan-fired (the process used in green teas) or fermented and fired (the process used in black tea). The leaves are naturally withered and dried in the sun. If mechanical drying is required it is a baking process at temperatures less that 40’C. These leaves must show a very light green almost gray white color and be ideally be covered with velvet peach fuzz down. Sowmee is one of the lower grades of white tea, but despite this it has the properties attributed to white teas. The leaves for Sowmee are plucked during late April, May and June. The lack of processing and hand selection is evident in the leaf appearance of Sowmee as it is somewhat mixed and tending flaky and flat. This Sowmee has a more pronounced taste profile – almost oolong tea-like. Many white tea drinkers prefer this cup in that there is a ‘substance’ to the taste compared to the delicate nuances of other white teas. Researchers at the Linus Pauling Institute in Oregon tested white teas on selected rats to test for the ability of white tea to inhibit natural mutations in bacteria and to protect them from colon cancer. Interestingly, white teas were found to be more effective than green tea in inhibiting the early stages of cancer but researchers pointed out that their study was on rats and the effects should not be extrapolated to humans. The researchers also found that white tea contains higher levels of caffeine compared to green tea brewed under the same conditions. They suggested that this could occur because white tea oxidizes during withering whereas in green tea the oxidation process is stopped early in the tea making process by steaming or panfiring. . Hot tea brewing method: When preparing by the cup, this tea can be used repeatedly (à la chinoise) – about 3 times. The secret is to use water that is about 180°F or 90°C. Place 1-2 teaspoons of leaves in your cup and let the tea steep for 3 minutes. Then begin enjoying a cup of enchantment – do not remove the leaves from the cup. Once the water level is low – add more water, and so on – until the tea flavor is exhausted. Milk or sugar will mask the delicate characters of this tea and are not recommended. Look at the pattern of the leaves – they foretell life. Payment Payment should be made when the auction closed or listing end .We ship out order after receiving cleared payment. puerh tea pu-erh tea natural tea ball mini tuo cha 4 OZ in Tea Tin

Gerry 12.00 Pu-erh Tea Mini Tuo Cha (Formed Black Tea) Country of Origin: China Region: Yunnan Province Altitude: 6000 ft above sea level Grade: Mini Ball Manufacture Type: Compressed tea Cup Characteristics: A bold taste profile with deep red wine notes. Infusion: Tending burgundy red Ingredients: Luxury black tea Information: Pu’erh is processed unlike black tea .This tea is picked, processed and partially fired allowing the leaves to retain moisture. The moist tea is then piled and has a reaction similar to that of a compost pile. The tea is then aged, in special underground rooms or caves, adding to its unique character. These aged teas are prized and like wine. Mini Toucha, like all Pu-erh teas age exceptionally well – in China it is not that uncommon to find processed tea in local Yunnan tea shops that has been aged for 25 years or more! When infused the tea has a mild musty character that to connoisseurs is immediately identifiable as Yunnan Pu-erh. To the initiated this character can be surprising and remind one of the smells of fresh earth. It is also because of this character that the tea is known in some parts of China as “Earth tea.” The mini-Toucha can be infused multiple times. Boiling water poured over the tea causes them to undo, infusing with rich, bold liquor. The cup produced is tremendous – dark, with deep notes of wine and subtle earth, full body and medium-long finish. Best enjoyed in the company of someone special. Health Benefits More recent studies indicate powerful cholesterol lowering effects, blood cleansing properties and aid significantly in weight loss efforts. Participants drink 3-4 cups of Pu’erh daily, After a 30-day period the results showed that drinking Pu’erh on a regular basis could significantly lower cholesterol and further research confirmed that Pu’erh was as effective as the most advanced cholesterol lowering medications available. Hot tea brewing method: Use 1 ball per pot of 16 OZ. Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Infuse heart and let steep for 3-5 minutes according to taste, (the longer the steeping the stronger the tea). Drink straight up.It can be infused multiple times Iced tea-brewing method: (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 6 tea balls into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter-fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. [A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water]. Please note that this tea may go cloudy or ‘milky’ when poured over ice; this is a perfectly normal characteristic of some high quality black teas and nothing to worry about! Enjoy! Masala chai Genmaicha Green Tea With Brown Rice Tea Loose Leaf Tea 1/4 LB

Normal 0 7.8 pt 0 2 false false false EN-US ZH-CN X-NONE GENMAICHA CHAI (Specialty Green Chai Tea) Small Batch Blended and Packed in Canada Ingredients From: China / India Region(s): Zhejiang Province / Kerala Shipping Port(s): Shanghai / Cochin Grade(s): Genmaicha – Made to Japanese specifications Growing Altitudes: 700 – 1500 feet above sea level. Manufacture Type(s): Tea ,Non fermented, Traditional steamed, Pan dried and polished. Cup Characteristics: Delicious toasty rice notes dappled with green tea and spice create a ceremonial tea union of Japan and India. Infusion: Bright and coppery with golden highlights. Luxury Ingredients: Green tea, Roasted & Popped rice, Ginger, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Black & White pepper, Clove, and Nutmeg. Information: A tea that blends the flavors of Japan and India together may seem a tad unlikely, but these two tea-loving countries have a long history of friendship, so it’s a natural fit! Cultural exchange between Japan and India started sometime during the 6th Century when Indian Buddhism was brought to Japan by traveling monks. Although Japan’s native religion was Shintoism, Buddhism gained a strong foothold in the country and helped forge a bond with India that has lasted for centuries. One of the friendlier gestures between the two over the years was a gift of two Indian elephants to the Ueno zoo in central Tokyo. The elephants were sent to Japan in 1949 by Indian president Jawaharlal Nehru. The gift helped bring some levity to the lives of the Japanese who were still reeling after the effects of WWII. The elephants lived for many years in the zoo and were visited by millions. Following the war, India was also the co-signer of one of Japan’s first post war peace treaties and helped usher in a new era of diplomatic relations. (Interestingly, if you visit Japan today, the influence of India can be found in any diner. Curry is as much a diner staple there as bacon and eggs are in the West!) So you see, blending Genmaicha with Chai is not such an odd notion after all. Once you brew a pot for yourself you’ll wonder why you questioned it at all. The tea blends the light character of Genmaicha with the exotic spiciness of chai. The resulting cup is the kind you want to gulp down as quickly as you can so you can have another. As you tip it back, your tongue is greeted by toasty notes of puffed rice punctuated by the hot sweetness of ginger, taste bud tempting cardamom, cinnamon, coriander, cloves and a long peppery finish. A fabulous cup deserving of its own bi-national tea anthem! Important: Turn your bag of Chai upside down a few times. The powdered spices can settle at the bottom of the bag during transit. Hot tea brewing method: Bring filtered or freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 slightly heaping teaspoon of loose tea, 1 tea bag or 1 Q3 single serve packet for each 7-9oz/200-260ml of fluid volume in the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 5-10 minutes (for true ‘chayee chayee’ steep at least 7 minutes). While the tea is brewing prepare your cup to receive the chai – put 2 teaspoons of sugar in the cup and add milk (about 20%) of the cup’s volume. When the chai is ready – pour into your cup. Gynostemma herbal tea Jiaogulan caffeine free energy tea 16 Pyramid tea bag

GYNOSTEMMA (Caffeine Free Herbal Blending Ingredient) Country of Origin: China Grade: Whole leaf #1, Packed in corn fiber biodegradable pyramid tea bags Altitude: 3000’ – 5000’ ft. above sea level Manufacture Type: Traditional Cup Characteristics: Initially the taste is mildly grassy but soon a natural sweetness fills your mouth with a lightly astringent finish. Widely consumed in Southern China for energy and long life. Infusion: Dark green Ingredients: Luxury premium gynostemma Information: Start serving Gynostemma and get ready to have customers for life. Variously known as Jiaogulan, Poor Man’s Ginseng, Miracle Grass and the Immortality Herb, Gynostemma has been credited with helping people live extremely long lives. (As with many herbal products, the evidence is anecdotal rather than scientific however so it should be taken with a grain of salt.) In the remote villages near Fanjing Mountain in Guizhou province, inhabitants routinely drink Gynostemma tea instead of traditional Chinese green tea. They believe that a cup in the morning invigorates them for the day ahead and a cup after work helps them unwind. Now here’s the amazing part – the people of these villages routinely live to be more than 100 years old. In the 1960s, a team of Chinese medicinal practitioners and herbalists researched the phenomena and made some interesting discoveries. They found that the herb was very high in antioxidants and functioned as a powerful adaptogen, an herb that increases the body’s resistance to trauma, anxiety and fatigue. Interestingly, the herb’s adaptogenic properties were known about at least as far back as 1406. In that year, a writer named Zu Xio wrote a book called Materia Medica for Famine. Zu Xio noted that Gynostemma was an excellent survival food, good for warding off starvation and building up the immune system during periods of drought. He recommended collecting the leaves of the plant and boiling them into a kind of sweet soup. Which brings us to the best part – unlike many herbs that are sour or bitter, Gynostemma has a wonderfully sweet flavor. The extract of the plant is so sweet in fact that it is used as a natural sweetener in Japan. A hot cup of Gynostemma tea starts off with a delicately herbal grassiness that leads into a natural sweetness and soft astringent finish – it truly is a miracle. Now, as we mentioned earlier, when your customers come in and ask for a bag, get their names – you might end up knowing them for decades! Hot tea brewing method: When preparing by the cup, this tea can be used repeatedly – about 3 times. The secret is to use water that is about 180’F or 90’C. Place about 1tea bag in your cup, let the tea steep for about 3 minutes and then begin enjoying a cup of enchantment – do not remove the leaves from the cup. Once the water level is low – add more water, and so on and so on – until the flavor of the tea is exhausted. Wholesale: We have special deal for wholesale and large order, please email us.
