The tea bushes at Margaret’s Hope are mostly from the Chinese variety of Camellia sinensis and grown at altitudes of 6000 – 7,000 ft above sea level. Growth is much slower in the cool weather at this altitude producing limited crops.Tasting Notes:—————– The leaves of this ‘special china’ are lightly rolled, primarily black and brown in color with a fair amount of grass green flakes. The leaves have a sweet and fresh floral aroma with some spicy characteristics. The bright golden-yellow liquor gives off a sweet aroma with notes of stone fruit and citrus. The cup starts off with a brisk character with light astringency. This lively taste gives way to a compact floral and woodsy character reminiscent of aromatic white flowers and firewood with an overall sweetness that fills your mouth. You get notes of raw tropical fruits like guava as aftertaste. This smooth, subtle-bodied cup with a fruity finish is sure to delight you.Steeping: 2 teaspoonful per cup (2-3g tea per 8 ounces/ 240 ml) of water at 80°C (176°F) for 4 – 4 1/2 minutes.
