Each Liubao Dark/Black Tea item weights 250 grams packed in a foil bag then placed inside a basket (note: this sale lot contains 2 baskets 500g of tea). Please note that as part of the fermentation process, it is common to see golden or yellow color fungi called Golden Flower fungi (Eurotium Cristatum) on Liubao Dark Tea and these fungi are an indication of good quality dark tea. The Eurotium Cristatum is a known potential probiotic fungus and is commonly seen on dark tea. It is completely safe to drink. Liubao or Liupao Dark Tea has no expiration date as it can be stored and aged for a long time so you can consume it now or later. About Liubao Dark Tea: Liubao (六堡) is a fermented dark tea traditionally from Guangxi Province. It is fermented and dried in a long delicate process in preparation for further aging. Liubao is a dark/black tea that has similar taste of fermented ripe puerh tea. During the tin mining boom of the 19th Century, enormous quantities of Liubao tea were imported into Malaysia as a customary beverage for the hard working Chinese migrants who worked at the mines. After the collapse of tin prices in the 1980s, mining industries declined and the large stockpiles of Liubao tea were left in storage for decades while some were sold cheaply for consumption by the local Chinese population.
