A fragrant jasmine scented green tea, Jasmine tea buds marries the delicate scent of jasmine blossoms. The tea buds are harvested in the early spring and stored until the late summer when fresh jasmine flowers are in bloom. Jasmine flowers are picked in the late afternoon when the small petals are tightly closed. In the early evening, when the flowers begin to open, the tea is blended with Jasmine flowers and stored overnight. During the night jasmine flowers open, bloom and release their fragrance into the tea. It takes over four hours for the tea to absorb the fragrance and flavor of the jasmine blossoms. This scenting process is repeated for as many as six times. The result is a very smooth, flavorful green tea with a gentle hint of Jasmine, refreshing and energising. From the complex and savory aroma it quickly becomes apparent that it is a yellow tea, with notes of hay, corn and dried tomatoes. Yellow tea is a very unique style of tea that is a cross between a green and white tea. It has the best attributes of both sides and so enjoyable to drink. From the green tea side it gets its sweetness and tropical fruit taste and from the white side it gets a delicate yet pronounced taste. It also gets the steeping ability from white, which allows it to be brewed many times. Handpicked tea from one bud about 3cm in length that contains a tiny leaf inside.
